Description: 
The role played by packing and chain conformation on the electronic structures of conjugated polymers (CPs) is still poorly understood [1, 2]. Small differences in intermolecular and intramolecular interactions cause large differences in materials properties, thus making it difficult to draw general rules for defining the impact of packing on the optoelectronic properties of CPs. This problem is also emphasized by the poor control that we can achieve over the polymer chain conformation and film morphology, and differently packed domains can be found at the solid state. As a result, photophysical properties reveal a complex overlap of the optical response arising from a broad landscape of ground-state and excited-state species associated with different local polymer organization.
